It is a pathetic scene for several nature lovers and the NGOs working in this area to notice that the thin forests existing in this area are le t on fire during the summer season by a few hooligans. The little greenery we promote and develop the year long is burnt to ashes causing severe environmental damage in the given conditions of poor rains and thin forests and greenery cover in this area.
Towards educating the communities against these activities, JSDA conducted Forest Protection Awareness camps in the villages of Kadiri and Bukkapatnam Forest Ranges.
Through cultural shows, wall writings, we tried to educate and impress the communities about how important are the forests and green fauna in the survival of living beings and the responsibility of each citizen in the protection of Forests. Songs, drama, street plays, meetings etc., were organized by involving the specially trained cultural teams. Theme of the program was “Comparision between the traidtional living and modren living style of human being and the relationship with Forest”.
Officials from the Forest Department, police, local leaders were involved in this campaign.
